This Privacy Policy explains how "The Elimination Game: Trivia Party" ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide, manage, and improve the game experience.
- Account Information (via Google Sign-In): When you log in using your Google account, we collect basic profile information provided by Google, specifically your email address and authentication token.

- Gameplay Data: We track your in-game statistics, including rounds survived, match history, hearts lost, and global leaderboard rankings.
- Device and Usage Data: We automatically collect standard diagnostic data such as your device type, operating system, IP address, crash logs, and general usage patterns to help us troubleshoot and improve the App. This is collected via PostHog / Google Analytics for Firebase.
We do not knowingly collect any information beyond what is described above.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To create and authenticate your account.
- To facilitate multiplayer matchmaking and validate gameplay answers.

- To analyze bugs, crashes, and feedback to improve the App's performance.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your data under the following legal bases:
- Consent: for account creation via Google Sign-In and for any optional personalized advertising.
- Legitimate interest: for crash reporting, diagnostics, and app improvement, where this does not override your fundamental rights.
- Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.
You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see Section 5).
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We only share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Other Players: Your chosen username and your submitted game answers are visible to your opponents during multiplayer matches and on public leaderboards.
- With Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the App, including Supabase (secure database hosting), Render (backend API hosting and data processing), and Google Play Services (authentication). These providers have access to your data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are contractually obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
- International Data Transfers: Our service providers may store or process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect data transferred outside the EEA/UK.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred; we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services.
How to Delete Your Data:

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Some non-identifying, aggregated statistics (e.g., anonymized match counts) may be retained after deletion for analytics purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (see Section 5).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email in Section 10.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures — including Row Level Security on our databases and encrypted OAuth tokens — to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. User-Generated Content and Community Conduct
Usernames and gameplay answers are visible to other players and, in the case of leaderboard rankings, publicly. Do not include personal information in your username. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that include harassment, hate speech, impersonation, or other abusive content. To report abusive content or behavior, contact us at the email in Section 10.
